Copper Pipe Thefts Another copper pipe theft recently took place at 2181 Wyandotte. The house is for sale, and is vacant. I asked our Ward 3 Police Officer, Kevin Fischer about it and here is his response:
So, if you notice any suspicious activity near a home that is vacant or for sale, please call the police. If you live near a vacant home that is for sale, it might be helpful to have the name of the Realtor - the Realtor will want to know what's going on, or if the property needs any maintenance or attention. A majority of these copper pipe thefts are taking place during the day and usually involve a van or truck. The perps usually case the place before the theft. A vacant property with no plumbing is harder to sell and will eventually affect everyone's property value. |
